Aaron Humphrey, Esq.

Born and raised in Florida, Aaron Humphrey attended The Florida State University where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts with honors in International Affairs and an additional Bachelor of Arts with honors in French. While at The Florida State University, he was inducted into the membership of Phi Beta Kappa Society, the longest-standing academic honor society in the United States, as well into the memberships of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Omicron Delta Kappa Society, and Mortar Board National College Senior Honor Society.

He received the university’s annual Torch Award for his outstanding service to the campus residence halls in his position as Treasurer in the Honors Residence Hall Government. He was elected by his peers as a student Senator to represent the university’s College of Arts & Sciences in the Student Government Association where he also served as Chairman of the Student Senate Judiciary Committee. Perhaps his most memorable service to the university, however, was as Chief Justice of the Student Judicial Board, which ultimately sparked his interest in the law and the pursuit of fairness and equality for all persons.

Attorney Humphrey received his Juris Doctor degree with honors from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law Center. Throughout his studies at law school, he was the recipient of four Book Awards in the areas of Legal Research and Writing I, Legal Research and Writing II, Elder Law, and Florida Constitutional Law. He served as treasurer of one of the various student organizations on campus, as well as Editor in Chief of one of the law school’s legal research journals, the International Citator & Research Guide.

He accomplished this while being employed as an editorial and research assistant for one of the law school’s tenured professors, and also as a law clerk for a respected, local probate and estate planning attorney. He performed his pro bono legal internship in the felony domestic violence division of the Broward County Office of the Public Defender.

Prior to attending law school, Attorney Humphrey has worked as a paralegal in various areas of law including immigration law, family law, real property and land-use litigation, trust administration, contracts, and state civil appeals. During and after law school, he has worked in the areas of law including probate and estate planning, business formation and dissolution, alternative dispute resolution, bankruptcy, and both commercial and residential foreclosures.

Attorney Humphrey is admitted to practice before all Florida courts, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Aside from serving as an attorney, he is an accomplished, classically trained pianist and an avid reader of many genres of literature.
